Welcome to MLC Collections, home to two significant and complementary resources: the Contemporary Art Collection and the Historic Archives.  This site serves as a rich resource for staff, students, alumnae, and the wider community, providing opportunities to explore, discover and engage with these collections.

Our Contemporary Art Collection aims to support learning and teaching within the College by offering a valuable classroom resource that encourages inquiry, creativity and critical thinking. Our Historic Archives preserve and share the story of MLC, documenting the people, places and experiences that have shaped the College over time.

Together, these collections reflect MLC’s identity, heritage and ongoing commitment to collecting, preserving and promoting materials of enduring significance. Whether you are researching, learning, reconnecting with the College, or simply exploring our history, this site offers a meaningful way to engage with the MLC story and foster a sense of belonging within our community.

Beginning in 1978, MLC has built a program that continues to allow deaf and hard-of-hearing students to participate fully in academic and co‑curricular life.

MLC Elsternwick was a branch school of the main Kew campus from 1930-1960.

Established in 1933 and named in 1937, MLC Houses are one of the most meaningful ways students create connection and belonging during their time at school.

MLC was the first girls’ school in the world to introduce laptops from Years 5 to 12 in 1990. This innovative approach was part of MLCs commitment to equipping students for the future.
