DescriptionBlack and white image showing gate extending along Barker's Road, with tower on right of the photo, and extending a bit along Glenferrie. Three people can be seen waiting for the tram, with bluestone paving in front of them.

Card is in pristine condition. (No writing on back).
It is similar to images taken around the time the gates and walls were completed, in October 1923 so has been dated that year.

Another copy of this postcard was sent to archives in July 2018 by Sandra L, daughter of OC Helen Ross (1959). It has writing on the back indicating it was sent as a promotional item for the school. Although undated, it refers to the new Domestic Science building (opened 1926) and is signed by Fitchett (although not in his hand) who died in mid-1928, so must date from between 1923 and 1928.Date1923SeriesRS0629Item IDACC0844/2TypeUnspecified
