DescriptionShows interior of Town Hall with hundreds of students in white dresses. Rev. Fitchett, Headmaster LeCouteur and Ada Fitchett visible.

Framed and matted ("Talma", Swanston Street)69 x 82 cm. NOTE: Photo is faded, frame chipped and backboard loose.

A description of the event in The Argus reports the hall was “prettily decorated for the occasion, with bright draperies, pot plants, and the pictures and drawings” done by pupils. Rev Dr Fitchett can be seen in the centre (with dark hair and beard). His speech noted that MLC “continued to stand at the head of all the colleges of Australasia.” Headmaster J. Reford Corr(standing to Rev. Fitchett’s right, with a striped hood on his academic gown, Dux Stella White is standing centre beside books. Ada Fitchett is seated, to the left of the books.
