BiographyMargaret Tiddeman (née Bennett) was a pioneering educator who played a significant role in the early years of Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC). Born in England, she arrived in Victoria in 1864 and began a career in education, serving as Head Teacher at Ormiston before joining MLC as Lady Superintendent in 1882.
During her 14 years at the College, she helped shape the care and organisation of boarding life, leaving a lasting impact on the school community. She retired in 1896, but was invited back in 1904 to be the inaugural president of the Old Collegians' Club.
